AI is not evil

I read a lot of opinions from smart people that AI is somehow bad, dangerous, or something along those lines.

It can be bad, for sure. I experienced it in my own brain in 2025:

• I relied on it too much.

As a result, my brain kind of got a bit more stupid.

South Park did a really good episode on the dangers of AI. If you have not watched it, I recommend that you do.

The good side of AI

I recently moved apartments. All the “big things” -> the bed, the mattress, the wardrobe, the sofa -> were there.

Yet it did not quite feel like “home”. Something was missing. Something was off.

One day, I decided to cook a steak. Stainless steel pan, high-smoke-point oil, dried rosemary, butter, garlic -> everything was in place. The entrecote I cooked was delicious…

A good dinner, one might say, huh?

Then came the “price of pleasure” -> time to wash the dishes. And hell began. Why? Because there was no dish drying rack in the new apartment. It was really inconvenient to wash the dishes. And the sponge/brush holder at the sink was missing as well -> the sponge had to lie around everywhere.

Not a good time…

AI comes to the rescue

Afterward, I went and asked ChatGPT:

As a minimalist interior designer and minimalist life coach, tell me: What are the
"small household" items, that actually make the apartment liveable, but people don't 
think about it? A good example is a plate drying rack that is located next to the 
kitchen sink. Or a Plate holder in a kitchen shelf... First give me 20% that give 80% 
of result Then give me the rest 80%

Maybe not the best prompt, but it recommended the following: a dish drying rack, a cutlery drying holder, a sponge/brush holder for the sink, a shoe mat, and an entryway “junk drawer” / key bowl.

So I went online and ordered it.

Small, cheap items that do not spoil a good steak dinner.

Conclusion

So, is AI evil? It can be. I think everybody, by 2026, has experienced its dark side. But hey -> it also has a good side. It can recommend a dish drying rack and save your first steak dinner in a new place.
